Exterior
The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee offsets modern with traditional with inspired exterior styling. The front half and the grille are smoothed and refined from the past, and they suit the entire package in a unified way. It is not marketed as a pure working-man’s vehicle as it has been in recent years. The Grand Cherokee side view is suggestive of a BMW X5. The view from in front still retains the seven-slat grille that is the mark of all Jeeps. At the back, the taillights reflect a little arrogance, as does the rear spoiler.Off-Road Capabilities
Rear-wheel drive is the standard on most models, but Jeep offers four different four-wheel-drive configurations. They vary from providing modest to the great off-road capability to putting all the possible power to the wheels in the performance trims. The 4WD configurations begin with the Quadra-Trac I, which boasts a locking center diff. It shares a 50/50 power breakup between the front and rear wheels but does not include low-range gears, so it is not ideally suited for off-road work. The Quadra-Trac II does come fitted with a two-speed transfer case for low-range speeds, and it comes with hill-descent control and hill-start assist. Add to that, Quadra-Drive II includes a rear electronic limited-slip diff, so the back axle can always get traction when other wheels cannot. Jeep also comprises its Selec-Terrain system to the Quadra-Trac II as well as the Quadra-Drive II systems. It offers an Auto, Sand, a Snow, a Mud, and Rock modes that augment the electronics of several of the vehicle systems to deliver the best traction over any terrain. Any model of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Selec-Terrain as well as an off-road package receives Jeep’s Trail Rating Badge.
Driving Performance
